Mercedes is a Registered Psychologist with more than 20 years of experience helping people in Australia, the US and her native Argentina. Mercedes’ strength lies in developing a supportive and committed relationship with her clients.

She graduated as a psychologist in 1992 from the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina and has since completed post-graduate training at Bellevue Hospital Centre and New York University in the US, where she lived and worked for five years. In New York City Mercedes gained experience in individual and group psychotherapy, health psychology, and cross-cultural therapy. Her experience across the public and private sectors in Australia has given her exposure to a broad range of clients with complex life situations.

Mercedes has had considerable experience in the resources sector, and in recent years has supported FIFO workers and their families with a broad range of difficulties associated with the fly in fly out lifestyle. More recently, she has developed strong skills in supporting people who have been made redundant, particularly in the resource sector. 

Mercedes’ areas of expertise include:

  • Treatment of anxiety and depression, with a particular interest in organisational psychology,
  • FIFO issues, and redundancies 
  • Reducing impact of chronic medical conditions
  • Coping with histories of trauma and abuse
  • Dealing with life transition issues
  • Resolving relationship difficulties and improving interpersonal skills
  • Coping with grief and loss
  • Dealing with relocation stress and migration issues.

Mercedes es una psicóloga con mas de 20 años de experiencia ayudando pacientes en Australia, Estados Unidos y Argentina. Ella habla fluido Español e Inglés y las sesiones pueden ser conducidas en ambos idiomas. Mercedes se caracteriza por formar una buena relación con sus pacientes y comprometerse en los tratamientos.

Mercedes se graduó de psicóloga en la Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina en 1992 y años mas tarde completó su entrenamiento de postgrado en el Bellevue Hospital Centre en Nueva york. Allí obtuvo experiencia trabajando con pacientes individuales, parejas, terapia de grupo, psicología de la salud y trabajando con inmigrantes. Mercedes ha tenido experiencia con diversos pacientes, generalmente en complejas situaciones de vida.

En los últimos 5 años Mercedes se dedicó a trabajar en el sector de minería en Australia brindando apoyo a trabajadores FIFO y sus familias.
